As my fiance likes to call it, GW is a FAG - Fantasy Action Game.
How fun would chess be if the white team got two queens? Would football be as much fun to watch if the home team got double points whenever they scored? PvP is competative, It needs that ballance to stay compettitve. Unbalanced games an be fine for a small, NWN RP comunity, but on a large scale like this, even in PvE balance is not just a good idea.

Did you ever play Diablo2? Morrowind? Ragnorak Online? Each of those games had massive balance problems. Cookie cutter builds, and 1-hit kills were the rule of the day. About RP? Heeeeh, you *could* RP in GW, I guess. Is it that much worse than WoW for RP? If not, blame the community. 13-15year olds are not typicaly RPers.

As far as the argument against starting in a 'new pre-seering' area, or a new training area for the Chapter 2, I think its a wonderful idea and it should actually be done more. Think about it...all of us here didn't grow up in the same continent, or country, or state, or city, and our life experiences are based on that. I think the fact that this Asian-inspired chapter is in a new continent makes sense. And I'm hoping in future chapters they continue this and make new cultures that can 'grow up' in their own areas.

Hmmm....I wish the www.guildwars.com site would have posted screen shots and info on chapter two. I do not feel I have to buy a magazine just to see pictures and info on the second chapter.

Come on Gaile & Alan....lets post on YOUR website.

*nods nods* But at least on NWN you have the choice of joining an RP based server with other people that want to RP. It's just disappointing that GW was sold as a game you could RP but really the chat system makes that impossible... If you say something in Lions Ach by the entryway you hear it all the way to the beach. GW is really more of a first person fantasy action game. (once again... FAG )

Most of what I said referred back to the fact that I would be much happier if GW were low lvl... then I would not have hit the cap so quickly and could still develop my character. I would only like the cap to go a "little" higher and take forever to lvl up to that. Anet's reasoning for lvling quickly has everything to do with PvP. *points to first paragraph*

Ahhhh.... I said it has been a long time. I only did it once and that was when the game first came out. It was nice to play through once but every time I try to play again I only get as far as lions gate... after that the story line moves away from where you started and takes a whole new direction that makes little sense.

I find myself wondering if I am such a hero then why am I leaving my homeland free to the charr? I kill a litch and that is supposed to make the world happy and all right? Suddenly everything is bubbles and pink puffy clouds? What the hell?

Why? Because a sorcerer had better armor, could do more damage than the warrior could ever hope to be able to do, etc. Basically, there was an option available that was superior in every facet of play, at pretty much every level. From what we've seen of Anet, one of their objectives is to try to make not only every class, but every class combination, viable to play. Are some better than others? Of course. But the advantages aren't astronomical. And, more importantly, this means that the player strategy is more important than some enormous innate advantage one class has over another.
*nods nods* Yes... the makers of NWN admit the messed the barbarian class but either they have fixed it or the scripts on the servers I played fixed it. Though I still say it was the imbalances that brought us together. Fighter class needs the buffs the cleric can give so he can stand against the fire of the sorcerer/mage... etc... *points back again where I say GW was advertised as a RPG*

Oh and don't I know it! I know that I am asking too much for people in a general sense to be polite and actually think about what they are saying and doing. For example I read every single post in this thread before I posted... half the posts were repeated questions that have already been answered in previous posts. My point... thank you Rico for such an intelligent reply. *curtsies*

Katari... I think I addressed your issues in my reply as well. GW was advertised and sold as an RPG... you have your choice of creating a RP or a PvP character. Why build a character in RP that focuses with the point of creating that character to PvP? I like PvP but when I am building my character my focus in on developing that character and why he/she would want to fight for a cause or group.... and my silly guild is better then your silly guild is not enough of a reason.

*points again where on NWN you can choose a server that focuses on RP* Maybe GW would be better if it had RP, PvP, etc districts rather then english1, german2, etc... nobody pays attention to that anyhow...

*hugs and kisses... runs off giggling*

here's a question: The new items in Ch2, can they be equiped by a player who only owns Ch1? If yes then Ch2 buyers will make a ton selling to Ch1 players and if not then Ch1 players are screwed if the new items are better andn ot just different. JMO

hers what im worried about. that with this new faction war theres going to be lods of overpowered solo assasins appearing out of nowwhere "pwning" anything the disapeareing again, making the game unplayable. But hell if they do the balance as well then the faction wars are what ive always wished they had from WoW.

The new item's will not be better for sure(maybe they will just look diffrent), and will not be avilable for players that owns only Ch1.

Accounts are not linked. So yeah, a copy of chapter II for each account. And why do you have 3 accounts? That's 12 characters for a game that has 6 professions.

so 6 professions pve and a dedicated pvp char optimal account useage is 2 accounts 0.o

Why so many?

I really hope they don't make the assassin stupid.

warriors are warriors for a reason, killing stuff is what they do, Already every other class can hex a warrior apart before he can do anything, if they make it so an assassin can beat a warrior while standing next to him then it will just nerf the warrior even more.

Personally I wouldn't mind it if the assassin was good vs spellcasters but warrior bait

We dont know for certain on HOW the teleport skill will work...recharge time..energy cost...but I do agree that it could be overpowered or aggrivating if they could jump around freely.

Best confirmed new feature (not counting new content): guild storage.

No more need to involve another person when I want to swap items between my 2 accounts.

Great stuff, I'm so looking forward to Chapter 2.

As for the character slots, I think the best way or most likely way is to add 4 more slots to your existing account when you buy chapter 2, and only 4 slots if you buy Chapter 2 without chapter 1. It will be perfectly balanced for chapter 1 and chapter 2 players this way.

I think Assasin's teleport skills won't be absurdly powerful, they would either have long recharge time or high energy or conditional, so you can only use them as an strategy in some specific situation, not just teleporting everywhere and killing everything in surprise.

I'm sure it'll be something like Necrotic Traversal, just without the poison and corpses...

So what we should do it have excellent write-ups -- a review of a preview, if you will -- that give the highlights of each article. In that way, all players get full information!

As long as the copyrights are respected, individual members of the different regions can share the info that they've gleaned. For credibility, I'd recommend posting the source, so that everyone knows it is on the up and up.
First of all, the Chapter 2 information that has been written here is very exciting and I'm looking forward to the expansion.
Second, a question to Gaile Gray:
Is this magazine will be provided in Asian countries?
Because I live in Israel and would really like to know more about the Chapter 2 but I'm not sure the magazine will be provided in Israel.

Just curious, because I keep seeing this. What on Earth (or Tyria) makes you think the skills trainer at ELC will have these skills available for sale?

I really hope they aren't, myself. There should absolutely be an end-game trainer who sells all skills available in Chapter 2; that trainer should be in an end-game area of Chapter 2, not ELC.

All I wanna know is, are we going to get more char slots.
Cuz it sucks only haveN 4 chars.
And yes I know I could have another acount but, logN in and out of differnt acounts is a pain in the @$$.
They should give us more char slots or let you link acounts together.
I dont care about payN more money I just want more char options then 4.
ThanX
